- Scope & Content:

This volume contains a treatise on horoscopes which is divided into 144 bablar, according to the signs of the Zodiac. The author of the work is not given, but it was probably first written in the 15th century CE. On ff 9v-10r the author mentions that the book dates from the time of Hārūn al-Rashīd, who summoned the savants and soothsayers from all over the world, to the number of 12 000. From these, selections were made, one after the other, until only twelve remained, to find the most suitable persons to compile this work for the Caliph and his successors.
There is a fragment of a Persian tract on physiognomy on ff 2-8v. The first two folios (ff 9-10 in the current binding) have been restored in a later hand.
The manuscript was copied at Eğri (Eger, contemporary Hungary) in 959 AH (1551-52 CE). In 962 AH (1554-55 CE), another colophon was added by Ömer İbn-i Ali with a few verses on divination.
