This volume contains a mesnevi on spiritual life illustrated by anecdotes and divided into 40 makalat. It forms part of the hamse of Yahya Bey (died 990 AH/1582-83 CE according to OM II, p. 497, or 983 AH/1575-76 CE according to Ali, Or 32 f 330, who is followed by Gibb in HOP III, p. 116) of the Dukagjini family of Albania.
This seem to be a very early copy of the text. An extremely rare feature is the presence of sayings and proverbs in Arabic, added at the top of almost every verso.
In the present manuscript, the normal incipit is preceded by another, which being inscribed in fading green ink is hard to decipher in places. The title written on the lower edge of the text block is Divan-i Gencine-i Raz.
On the front endpaper and f 1r are found owners' inscriptions and scribbles, and the Koranic verse repeated several times in Sure 55.
The manuscript was copied in 993 AH (1584 CE).
