- Title:
- Risale-yi Husn u Dil - رسالۀ حصن و دل
- Scope & Content:
-
This volume contains an Ottoman Turkish adaptation, much elaborated with verses and additional matter, of the famous Persian mystical allegory with the same title by Fattāḥī of Nīshāpūr. The author of the translation and adaptation is Ahi (Benli Hasan Çelebi, died 923 AH/1517 CE).
This copy is lettered on the spine as "Ahi & Lami'i Husn u Dil", apparently on the basis of an Ottoman Turkish note on the first folio that reads: 'Haza kitab-i Dil-i Ahi ve İbretnüma-yi Lami'i', but this work contains only the creation of Ahi. It is possible that there was a work by Lami'i bound in with Ahi's Husn u Dil at one time, but the two works were later separated, leaving the note on f 1r as the sole indicator of this arrangement.
The text contains a single unvan, and the last folio was supplied by a later hand.
The manuscript was likely copied in the 16th century CE.
