This volume contains the Divan of Baki, the greatest lyric poet of the Ottoman Empire, written during his lifetime. This copy is more complete than the one found at Add MS 7922.
The Divan begins with 27 kaside arranged according to the individuals praised:
(I-IV) f 2v : In praise of Sultan Süleyman;
(V-VI) f 6v : Sultan Selim II;
(VII-XIV) f 7v : Sultan Murat III ;
(XV) f 12r : Mehmet III ;
(XVI-XVII) f 12v : In praise of Ali Paşa ;
(XVIII) f 5v : In praise of Kubad Paşa ;
(XIX) f 16v : In praise of Ebüsüud ;
(XX) f 17v : In praise of Kadızade ;
(XXI) f 18v : In praise of Ahızade ;
(XXII) f 19v : In praise of Mehmet Çelebi, son of Ebüsüud ;
(XXIII-XXIV) f 20v : In praise of Baba Efendi ;
(XXV) f 22v : In praise of Feridun Bey ;
(XXVI) f 23r : Elegy on Kanunî Süleyman's death ;
(XXVII) f 25r : Elegy on Princess Mihr u Mah's death.
The rest of the volume contains tahmisat of gazeller by Süleyman, Selim II, Murat III, and Necati Bey (f 26r); Persian tahmisat and gazeller (f 28v); mesneviler (f 31v); gazeller in alphabetical order, beginning as in Add MS 7922 (f 33v); and matali (f 107v).
The volume contains two unvans.
The colophon states that the manuscript was copied by Mehmet İbn-i Ömer, known as Aşık, for Mustafa Ağa, Rikabdar (equerry) of Sultan Mehmet III, and was completed on the last day of Rebiüssani 1004 AH (1 or 2 January 1596 CE).
