This is one of six collections of Thai-Mon palm leaf manuscripts digitised by the EAP1123 project team.
The manuscripts were kept upstairs from a library (of regular books) and was part of a larger collection of disused or surplus temple furniture, cabinets, spires, thrones, etc. The collection was well-ordered, apparently the work of a team from the National Library. The collection included palm leaf manuscripts and parabaik in Mon, Pali, and Thai, in the Mon, Khom, and Thai scripts. Palm leaf manuscripts appeared to be all on the usual religious topics. Of particular interest were the illuminated manuscripts here.
Custodial history: The abbot had no specific information about the provenance of the texts.

- User Conditions:
- Access is for research purposes only
- Custodial History:
- Material in this collection was created as part of the EAP1123 Recalling a Translocal Past: Digitising Thai-Mon palm-leaf manuscripts project.
- Source of Acquisition:
- Received from project holder Dr Patrick McCormick, July 2019 (accession record EAP1123/1)
- Arrangement:
- The Thai team had placed Thai-language labels, in the form of strips of palm leaves, on the outside of most of the manuscripts, which were otherwise kept in wrappers. The collection kept in the glass case nearest the door leading to the verandah, which was the case where the parabaik and other larger texts were kept, had white slips of paper affixed to them which provided a title and description of contents in Thai. These seemed not to be part of any other larger classification scheme. The abbot granted us permission and stayed with us during the digitization
