This volume contains the following three works :
(I) ff 2v-142r : İbret ül-bahreyn, an ethical and mystical mesnevi by Şerifi written in the reign of Murat III. According to his own testimony (ff 70v-71v), the author began his climb to the position of Kazasker as Kadı of Giza near Cairo, then moved about from place to place in this capacity ;
(II) ff 143v-178v : Riyaz ul-ravzat, a similar poem by the same author. It is possible that the author is actually Seyit Mehmet Çelebi Eğiridirli, who is known to have been a Kadı ;
(III) ff 179v-302r : Futuhat-i Selatin-i Al-i Osman or perhaps Futuhat-i Selatin-i Osmani, an epitome of Ottoman history down to the time of Murat IV written in seventy days by Mehmet İbnü'l-Hüseyin known as Kadızade (?) according to an obliterated entry on f 180v. It seems that the author held a high position, possibly at the court, but fell into disgrace - hence the obliteration of his name. A new folio had been inserted and stuck on to f 180v to conceal the name of the author deliberately.
The manuscript was likely copied in the 17th or 18th century CE.
