Nāmaliṅgānuśāsana
Contents
Language(s): Sanskrit
Author: AmarasiṃhaTitle: NāmaliṅgānuśāsanaA dictionary.
The Ms. is moderately accurate; in the earlier portions glosses are freely inserted. It is dated fol. 172v.
The date is not clear; Aufrecht (Z.D.M.G., lviii. 536) ascribed the Ms. to about A.D. 1850, apparently overlooking the chronogram, but it is clearly older than that, possibly śka 1631 is intended.
The date of Amarasiṃha is still not precisely fixed. It is probable that he preceded Candragomin. On Candragomin's date (perhaps c.A.D.600) see Sten Konow, Das indische Drama, pp. 72, 73.
