Three texts on alchemy and cookery. The volume was purchased from Rosa, the widow of Colonel Robert Taylor (1788-1852), Political Resident in Baghdad (1828-43).
The three texts were copied in 1215/1800-01 by an un-named scribe. The second text in the volume was the first to be copied, as testified by the respective colophon dates and a now-obscured note at the beginning of the second text, reading 'Beginning of the volume' (أول مجلد [!], f. 90r).

- (2) Jābir ibn Ḥayyān (جابر بن حيان), Kitāb al-khawāṣṣ al-kabīr (كتاب الخواص الكبير, ff. 90v-233v);
- (3) Ibn al-ʻAdīm (ابن العديم), al-Wuṣlah ilá al-ḥabīb fī waṣf al-tayyibāt wa-al-ṭīb (الوصلة إلى الحبيب في وصف الطيبات والطيب, ff. 234r-280r).

Foliation: British Museum foliation in pencil, cancelled previous British Museum foliation in pencil from f. 3 to end
Ruling: Misṭarah; 22 lines per page; vertical spacing 12 lines per 10 cm
Script: Naskh
Ink: Black ink, with rubricated headings and overlinings in red
Decoration: Text frames in red and blue ink on every page; spaces left for illuminated headings to each text, not completed
Binding: Red leather case binding with blind-tooled medallion and pendants on both boards.
Condition: Fragile condition due to water-damage, with tidemarks extending from head margins, warping of papers, smudging, and ink transfer
Marginalia: A few corrections and comments throughout in the scribal hand; a note on the contents in Persian (f. 2r); very faint pencil note on the contents (f. 2r)
