Title: Bhaviṣyapurāṇa

Written in Benares.

One of the 18 great Purāṇas.

See Aufrecht, Cat. Bodl., no. 75; Rāj. Mitra, Notices, viii., p. 5 (where 133 adhyāyas are enumerated, ending with 'bhojakānām mahattvavarṇanam'). In the present Ms. the chapters are not numbered., nor even sufficiently indicated.

The Ms. seems to be incomplete, the end being different from that of the Ms. described in the Notices.

Incipit: sumanturūvāca || śṛṇuṣvedaṃ mahābāho purāṇaṃ pañcalakṣaṇaṃ | yacchrutvā mucyate rājan purūṣo brahmahatyayā || parvāṇi pañca caivātra kīrtitāni svayambhuvā | prathaman kathyate brāhman dvitīyaṃ vaiṣṇavaṃ smṛtaṃ || f. 1v
