Rādhāvinoda-vyākhyā
Contents
Language(s): Sanskrit
Title: Rādhāvinoda-vyākhyāA commentary on the Rādhāvinoda - an alliterative rhyme poem, in 19 verses, on Kṛṣṇa's amorous sports by Rāmacandra, son of Janārdana, and grandson of Puruṣottama.
The author was the son of Raṅganātha. The commentary was composed for the son of Śukadeva Paṇḍita-śiromaṇi.
For the incipit cf. Rāj Mitra, Notices, iv., p. 299.
The commentary published (with the text) in the Grantharatnamālā, vol. iv. (Bombay 1890), professes to be Rāmacandra's Prakāśa in the introduction (kuśeśayadalākāra ॰ ||1|| rādhāvinodakāvyasya prakāśaḥ paritanyate | sudhiyā rāmacandreṇa bhāsvateva sarorūhām ||2||), but from verse 2 to the end (incl. the final verse) it is identical with the present work. The commentary in Haridās Harichand's edition in the Kāvyakalāpa (Bomb. 1865), though beginning with the first introductory verse of this commentary, and probably throughout based on it, is not the same. Cp. also Weber, Berl. Cat., nos. 577, 578.
