Manuscript diary for the year 1843 of Eliza Ellice, born Courtney (1792-1859), illegitimate daughter of Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire (1757-1806) and Charles Grey (1764-1845). Written during an extended stay in Florence, Italy. Recording outings in Florence, sights and galleries of the city, reading, church attendance, family and social life.
With a single sheet Paragon Almanack for the year 1843 folded and pasted in at front of the volume.
