- Qur’an, Aceh. Lacking beginning, text starts at S. al-Baqarah, Q.2:93. Text frames are ruled lines of red-black-red-black ink. Verse markers are yellow or orange roundels outlined in black, mm diameter, with composite 4-petalled roundels coloured in red, yellow or black at the end of the final surahs. Surah headings are in red ink (many are not filled in, eg. f.97r), some with knotted ta marbuta (eg.f.235r); only from f.224r onwards surah headings are set in double red ruled frames. The first line of each juz’ is highlighted in red ink. Some marginal marks in red for portions of each juz' - thumn, rub` and nisf - with other marginal marks and ornaments in pencil. There are catchwords on every folio Illuminated pages: two decorated double frames in the ‘Acehnese’ style in red, yellow, black and reserved white, in the middle at the beginning of juz’ 16 on ff. 119v-120r; and with a pair of empty frames at the end on ff. 260v-261r following the end of the Qur’anic text.
