A collection of fifty letters from Granville Leveson-Gower (1815-1891), 2nd Earl Granville, to a variety of correspondents, together with two letters from his father, Granville Leveson-Gower (1773-1846), 1st Earl Granville. The letters are in the main brief, dealing with social and parliamentary business.
1. Letter to Lord Aberdeen. London, undated. Regarding a missed visit, as he had been summoned to a cabinet meeting.
2. To John T Delane (editor of The Times). London, 2 Feb 1863. Asking him to insert a letter from ‘Johnny’ Acton, who had been attacked by a correspondent in the paper; and re various deaths.
3. To Edward Henry Stanley, Earl of Derby, Foreign Secretary. London, 4 March 1878. Asking about terms of the peace [i.e. Treaty of San Stefano?].
