Custodial history: The documents have been produced by the high school based on their educational activities.
Author(s)/Creator(s): The Liceo Abate Molina de Talca was founded in 1827 to provide secondary humanistic education to children and youth in the south central zone of Chile, thanks to the initiative and legacy of assets of the Jesuit and scientist Juan Ignacio Molina. After a few years of operation, it added a boarding school to accommodate the children of farmers in the area, and in 1954 a mixed night school was created to educate workers who wanted to complete their school year. In 1926 the lyceum finally occupied the school building built to house it on Alameda Avenue. The 2010 earthquake damaged it in several of its sectors that had to be rebuilt to continue providing educational quality to families in the city and the Talca area.
Arrangement: In 2012, the School Archives Program –financed by the PLALA program– produced a documentary inventory that provisionally identified chronologically series. Currently there is no classification scheme.
