Illustrated cosmological compendium in nine chapters (أبواب), subdivided into many sections (فصول), by the theologian and polymath Shams al-Dīn Abū ʻAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Abī Ṭālib al-Ansārī al-Dimashqī (شمس الدين أبو عبد الله محمد بن أبي طالب الأنصاري الدمشقي, d. 1327).
The copy was completed on the 16th of Shaʻbān (the eighth month) of the 'tenth year of the third tenth of the second hundred of the second millennium' (i.e. 1130/15 July 1718), by the scribe ‘Abd Allāh ibn Luṭf Allāh al-ʻĀmilī, in Isfahān (see colophon, f. 118r, lines 14-15, transcribed below).
The copy is illustrated by a number of paintings on ff. 12v (unfinished), 23r, 38r, 52v, 53v, 55r, 57r, 57v, 58r, 58v, 63r, 64v, 71r, 75v, 76v, 78r, 80v, 81r, 81v, 82r, and 87v. Diagrams and tables are found on ff. 9v, 11r, 22r, 26r, 94r (unfinished), and 113r.

- Chapter Four discussing water and its nature and movement and its encircling of the Earth except for what of it stands out above it, and the reason for its freshness or saltiness, and describing the islands of the seas (الباب الرابع في ذكر الماء وطباعه وحركته وإحاطته بالأرض إلا ما برز منها عنه وسبب ملوحته وانسجاره وذكر جزائر البحار المتصلة به, ff. 52r-56v);
- Chapter Five discussing the sea of Byzantium known as Pontus (Black Sea), and its outflow via the Gulf of al-Andalus (Mediterranean) and the description of its borders and regions and its islands and marvels, and the reason for its link with Alexander (الباب الخامس في ذكر بحر الروم المسمى بنطس ومخرجه من خليج الأندلس ووصف حدوده ونواحيه وجزائره وعجائبه وذكر سبب ينسبت الإسكندر, ff. 56v-61v);
- Chapter Six describing the southern sea, which is called according to the regions along its shores, from China to East Africa, and the description of its extent and its islands, and the characteristics of its wildlife (الباب السادس في وصف بحر الجنوبالمسمى بآسماء نواحيه من الصين إلى الزنج ووصف مده وجزره وذكر جزائره ونعت حيوانه, ff. 61v-69v);
- Chapter Seven discussing the great Eastern kingdoms and their shores, districts and boundaries, which have been ruled over or explored by the Muslims, and of their cities and what is in them (الباب السابع في ذكر الممالك المشرقية الكبار والأسقاع والكور والأحواز التي ملكها المسلمون وجاسوا خلالها وذكر أمصارها ووصف ما فيها, ff. 69v-94v);
- Chapter Eight describing the Western kingdoms in turn, and thier districts, boundaries and shores, kingdom by kingdom as far as the Westernmost shores bounded by the Atlantic (الباب الثامن في وصف الممالك المغربية التالية لما تقدم ذكره ووصف الكور والأجواز والأسقاع مملكة بعد مملكة إلى سواحل البحر المحيط المغربي, ff. 94v-101v);
- Chapter Nine describing the division of the nations into Shem, Japheth and Ham, the sons of the prophet Noah—peace be upon him—, and the particulars by which they are distinguished, and a discussion of the names of their months, days and festivals, and the particulars of their lands (الباب التاسع في وصف انتساب الأمم إلى سام ويافث وحام أولاد نوح النبي عـ[ـليه السلا]م وذكر نبذ مما امتازوا به وذكر أسماء شهورهم وأيامهم وأعيادهم وخصائص البلاد), ff. 101v-118r).
