This collection contains 2 Series 1) handwritten Notebooks and 2) Registers. The notebook series have 7 Sub-Series and 37 Notebooks comprising 689 images. The registers series have 20 Sub-Series and 136 registers comprising 6317 images. They are addressing a variety issues of Idayakottai Zamin and their estate, such as Acquittance Roll, Complaint , Disposal List of papers, Land Account, Minutes Book ,Temple Account, Temple Land Lease. A variety of documents are related to the social history and financial activity of the Idayakottai Zamin. Their participation in municipal administration, association with various government departments and officials, etc. These documents are dated from 1 Jan 1905 to 30 Jun 1967 and some small number of the documents are undated.
Extent: 173 Notebooks of different sizes containing 7006 images.
Condition of original material: The Notebooks and Registers are in good condition except the edges have some folds, some of the folios are torn and missing without affecting the contents.
Custodial history: These Notebooks and Registers belong to a Naikar Palayakkarar family, residing in the Idayakottai village in Oddanchatram Taluk, Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu. The present document holder inherited them from his ancestors.
Arrangement: The Notebooks and Registers were kept with no system of arrangement by the document holder. The bundles were segregated into different series according to topic. However the Notebooks and Registers were digitised as found.
