This volume contains a treatise on the use of the pen, famous calligraphers, instruments, and inks. It was composed for Sultan Murad IV (reigned 1032-49 AH/1623-40 CE; see f 34r) by İbrahim el-Hüseyni el-Kureyşi el-Mukri, also known as Nefiszade.
The manuscript was completed in Şeval 1148 AH (February-March 1736 CE) by İsmail İbn-i Hamit el-Hamidi, 'well known for his calligraphy' (el-meşhur bi hüsnü'l-hatt).
