- Scope & Content:
-
This volume contains an Ottoman Turkish version of the popular tale Siret Baybars, which tells of the exploits of Baybars I. It is divided into sections introduced by the narrator (el-ravi) and İbn Khallikān, who is regarded in the first line as the compiler of the tale.
The original Arabic work Sīrat Baybars (سيرة بيبرس) is referred to under its subsidiary title Kitāb al-rawḍatayn fī intiqāl al-dawlatayn (كتاب الروضتاين في انتقال الدولتين).
The manuscript has been wrongly lettered as ''Ibn Khallikān. History'' in accordance with a note on the first folio.
The manuscript was copied in 1102 AH (1690-91 CE).
