- Scope & Content:

This volume contains a work on ethics and religion translated from the Persian (f 4v) at the order of Ali Paşa. Neither the name of the translator nor that of the author of the original appears in the text, but Haj. Khal. (I, p. 487) records an Ottoman Turkish version of a Persian work Anis al-ᶜārifīn in 12 chapters made from Ali Paşa by Emir Cafer Tuğrai, better known as the Nişancı Paşa, Cafer Çelebi. This must be the work represented in the current volume. He also does not state the name of the author of the original, but the previous entry deals with a work of the same name by Şükrullah İbn-i Şihabeddin Ahmet İbn-i Zeyneddin Zaki el-Rumi, the author of the Behçetü't-tevarih. Unfortunately, Haj. Khal. does not specify the language of this last work, nor does Storey (p. 91), where a work by Şükrullah with the same title is mentioned.
At the end of the text are three folios from a work in the form of questions and answers concerning ethics.
