Description: 1 kan, 2 satsu, in a box. (Satsu 上) ff. 23; (satsu 下) ff. 13. 22.5 x 16.3 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 16 x 11.5 cm. (average). No borders, except round illustrations. No fishtail design on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text without furigana. 8 lines to page, variable no. of characters to line.
Original dark blue covers with vestiges of floral design in silver on front. Original printed title slip, centrally placed, on satsu 上 only. Gedai: Komachi kashū jō 小町家集 上.
Hashiragaki: Komachi jō (ge) 小町上 (下) ＋ folio no.
Edition: Undated, illustrated edition published in mid- to late-17th century. The only other edition noted in Kokusho sōmokuroku 国書総目録 is included in the larger collection Kasen kashū 歌仙家集, 15 satsu, published in Shōhō 4 (1647).
Contents: 116 waka poems by Ono no Komachi, selected from the Kokinshū 古今集 and other imperial anthologies and supplemented from other sources by an unknown compiler.

Condition: Good, apart from some water stains and soiled corners.
Impression: Atozuri, from slightly worn blocks.
Illustrations: 10 single-page sumizuri woodcuts in conventional style, 6 in satsu 上 and 4 in satsu 下.
Seals of ownership: Square red seal, Shindō zōsho 慎堂蔵書, on first page of each satsu. Two square red seals, one 常則之印, the other unidentified, on last page of each satsu.
