Description: 6 kan, 3 satsu, in a chitsu case. (Maki 1) ff. 23; (2) ff. [1] (目録), 23; (3) ff. 1-4, 5 / 10, 11-60; (4) ff. 38; (5) ff. [1] (目録), 57; (6) ff. 3 (目録), 1, 2 / 3, 4-57. 21.8 x 15.1 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 17.1 x 12.1 cm. (average). Single-line borders. No fishtail design on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text without printed furigana. 10 lines to page, c. 20 characters to line.
Original grey covers, with original printed title slips on left. Gedai: Edo (tsunogaki) ryōrishū 江戸 (角書) 料理集 + abbreviated contents of each satsu. No naidai. Hashiragaki: Ryōri 料理 + maki no. + folio no.
Edition: The only Edo-period edition. This is of the Enpō 2 edition, but is a made-up set (toriawase-bon) of which maki 5 is printed on whiter paper and comes from a different set from the others.
Contents: A manual of cookery in the Edo style, the most detailed and comprehensive of its kind.

Condition: Good. Minor worm damage (repaired by urauchi) in maki 1, 4 and 5. Some folios slightly stained.
Impression: Atozuri from moderately worn blocks.
Illustrations: Only maki 5 contains illustrations: sumizuri woodcuts showing the slicing and preparation of fish and fowls for the table, on ff. 49-57.
Seals of ownership: Small oblong red seal, Shūsuitei 拾翠亭, on first page of maki 2, 3, 4 and 6.
