Description: 2 kan, 1 satsu, rebound in 1 vol. western style. (Maki 上) ff. 22; (maki 下) ff. 8. 26.4 x 17.8 cm. Fukurotoji.
Movable type. Printing frame 22.6 x 15.4 cm. (average). No borders. No fishtail design or title on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text, with on-kun furigana incorporated in printing type alongside a few kanji. 11 lines to page, 21 characters to line.
Renewed pale-buff front cover, printed with diagonal streaks of lighter and darker olour, with added title slip bearing manuscript gedai (mid-Edo period) : 月日のさうし. Title from naidai. Hashiragaki: 上 (下) + folio no. only. In a western style half-leather binding.
Edition: The only known edition with this title and without illustrations. A notable feature of the BL edition is the inclusion of kanji with furigana alongside engraved on the same piece of type (rubi-tsuki ルビ付き).
Contents: A popular tale of the Muromachi period (otogi-zōshi).
