Imprint: [Kyōto] , Yoshida Saburōbē, Genroku 4, 1691. Kanki on fol. 108b (maki 下) reads: 元禄四年辛未正月吉辰 / 書肆 吉田三郎兵衛.
Description: 3 kan, 3 satsu, in a box. (Maki 上) ff. 1-31, 32 / 40, 41; (maki 中) ff. 42-78; (maki 下) ff. 79-108. 21.6 x 14.6 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 16.8 x 12.3 cm. (average). Single-line borders. Horizontal rule separating text from illustration in most cases. No fishtail design on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text. 10 lines to page, except in poems above illustrations; variable no. of characters to line.
Faded dark blue covers, probably renewed, with renewed title slips and manuscript gedai: 鴫羽搔. Title from naidai at head of each maki. Hashiragaki: Shiki しき + folio no.
Edition: A late impression from the first edition. Kanki of earlier impressions contain the publisher's name Itō Heihachi 伊藤平八 as well as Yoshida Saburōbē but all were printed from the same blocks. A further edition followed in Tenmei 1 (1781).
Contents: An anthology of waka poems on numerical themes, e.g. the four seasons, eight landscape views, etc.

Condition: Good, but with some worm damage (repaired) and soiled folios.
Impression: Atozuri from moderately worn blocks.
Illustrations: A total of 86 sumizuri illustrations, occupying the lower half of the page: 15 in maki 上, of which 12 are portraits of poets, 32 in maki 中, and 34 in maki 下. Most of them illustrate scenes from the poems.
Seals of ownership: Two square red seals (unidentified) on first page of maki 上 and last page of maki 下.
