- Kıssa-yi Ferahşad - قصۀ فرحشاد
- Scope & Content:
-
This volume contains a romantic mesnevi telling of the loves of Hurşit, daughter of Siyavuş, King of Persia, and Ferahşad, the son of the King of the Mağrip. On other occasions, this text is given the title Hurşitname. The author of the work, Şeyhoğlu Mustafa, completed the poem in 789 AH (1387 CE) and dedicated it firstly (f 14v) to Süleyman Şah of the Germiyanoğlu, who died before the poem was completed. His next patron was Yıldırım Bayezit, son of Murat I and son-in-law of Süleyman Şah, but in this copy he is called Bayezit İbn-i Süleyman in the eulogy of the reigning monarch (f 15r) and also Şehinsah Bayezit İbn-i Ulu Han.
The text contains a single gilded unvan and drawings of weapons on the first few leaves.
This manuscript was likely copied in the 15th century CE.
