Description: 2 kan, 1 satsu. (Maki 上) ff. 41; (下) ff. 67. 15.3 x 11 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 12 x 9 cm. (average). Single-line borders. No fishtail design on hanshin.
Kanbun text with printed kunten. 9 lines to page, variable no. of characters to line.
Covers printed in brown and white bands, contemporary with printing of text (late-18th century ?), with printed title slip bearing gedai: 職原鈔 全. Title from naidai. Hashiragaki: Shokugen jō (ge) 職原上 (下) + folio no.
Edition: Third blockprinted edition based on the Keichō 13 (1608) movable type edition published (or edited) by Kiyohara Hidekata 清原秀賢, and incorporating the kanki of that edition on fol. 67b of maki 下, after the appended supplements 補遺 and 後附. The present copy is a much later impression by Izumoji Shōhakudo 出雲寺松栢堂 of the original Manji 2 (1659) edition.
Contents: The earliest Japanese work (written c. 1340) on government offices, both statutory and non-statutory, tracing their development since the establishment of the Ritsuryō 律令 system of government in the 7th century and explaining their functions.
