Description: 7 kan, 7 satsu, in a wrap-around case. (Maki 1) ff. [31] ; (2) ff. [11] ; (3) ff. [19] ; (4) ff. [26] ; (5) ff. [20] ; (6) ff. [10] ; (7) ff. [20] . Folios unnumbered. 26.7 x 17.2 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 21 x 16 cm. (average). Double-line borders framing each page. No printed hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text, with printed furigana, dakuten and kutōten. 11 lines to page, 20-26 characters to line.
Original black covers, with damaged remains of original printed title slips bearing gedai: 女諸礼集, followed by brief indication of contents of each maki, in hiragana. Naidai of maki 1, 4, 6 and 7: Onna shorei 女諸礼; of maki 3 and 5: Onna shoreishū 女諸礼集.
Edition: First edition of this work, followed by others in Tenna 3 (1683), Jōkyō 5 (1688) and Genbun 3 (1738).
Contents: A practical guide to etiquette, social life and behaviour for women, generally classed as ōraimono 往来物. Deals with correct dress, ornamentation, ceremonies and the major events of life.

Condition: Good, except for soiled corners and a few stains. All folios have been interleaved.
Impression: Slightly atozuri.
Illustrations: A total of 35 single-page sumizuri illustrations, distributed as follows: (maki 1) 16; (2) 1; (3) 4; (4) 4; (5) 5; (6) 0; (7) 5. They depict, among other subjects, kimono designs, wedding ceremonies, bridal processions and receptions, childbirth, and the wrapping and presentation of gifts.
Seals of ownership: Circular black seal (unidentified) on first and last pages of each maki.
