Imprint: [Edo] , Shōkai 松會, Kanbun 9, 1669. Kanki following batsubun (in kanbun with printed kundoku) on last page of maki 下 reads: 于時寛文九己酉歳仲春吉旦 ／ 松會開板.
Description: 3 kan, 1 satsu, rebound in 1 vol. western style. (Maki 上) ff. 26; (中) ff. 23; (下) ff. 16. 26.3 x 18.8 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 22.7 x 16.6 cm. (average). Single-line borders all round. No fishtail design on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text in gyōsho script, with few printed furigana. Variable number of lines to page, but generally 12-14. 26-30 characters to line.
Original mid-brown front cover only, with renewed yellow title slip bearing manuscript gedai (late-Edo period) : 寛文古板塵劫記 完･･･ . Title from naidai at head of mokuroku of each maki. Hashiragaki: Shinpan jinkōki jō 新板塵劫キ 上 (chū 中, ge, 下) + folio no. A page headed 初製目付字 終 from maki 中, fol. 24, of another edition of Jinkōki has been pasted on mikaeshi in place of original endpaper.
Edition: One of the very large number of expanded editions of this work published with such frequency during the 17th-19th centuries. Preface in Japanese headed 新板塵劫記序 precedes mokuroku of maki 上.
Contents: A new augmented version of the most widely used work of practical mathematics of the early to mid-Edo period. 56 sections (jō 序) in all.
