Blockprint. Printing frame 24.5 x 17.5 cm. Single-line borders, with fishtail design on hanshin.
Kanbun and katakana-majiri text, with kanbun headnotes in a wide border above.
Printed kunten and kutōten throughout. 20 lines to page (small characters), 20 characters to line (main text).
Blue front cover (original) of maki 1 only, embossed with a repeat floral design, within western-style half-leather binding. Original printed title slip. Gedai: 小學句讀口義詳解. Title from naidai. Hashiragaki: Shōgaku shōkai 小學詳解 + maki no. + folio no.
Edition: The only edition of this work.
Contents: Chinese text of Zhu Xi's (朱熹) summary of Confucian teachings, with Japanese translation following each section and with kanbun commentary in the form of headnotes.
