Description: Incomplete copy. Maki 1-18 only (of 25), formerly in 7 satsu, now rebound in 1 vol. western style. (Satsu 1) maki 1-2; (satsu 2) maki 3-4; (satsu 3) maki 5-7; (satsu 4) maki 8-10; (satsu 5) maki 11-13; (satsu 6) maki 14-16; (satsu 7) maki 17-18. 26.3 x 17.1 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame varies between 18.5 and 20.5 x 12 and 13.2 cm. Single-line borders above and below text. Double-line borders at inner edges of each leaf. Vertical rules between columns. Fishtail design on (very narrow) hanshin.
Kanbun text, without printed kunten or reading marks. 11 lines to page, 19 characters to line.
Original mid-blue front cover of satsu 1 only. No title slip. No gedai, printed or manuscript. Naidai at head of maki 1, 6, 11, 14, etc.: Ō Jōgen shū hyakka chū bunrui Tōba sensei shi 王狀元集百家註分類東坡先生詩. Naidai at head of maki 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 17, 18: Ō Jōgen shū shoka chū bunrui Tōba sensei shi 王狀元集諸家註分類東坡先生詩.
Hashiragaki: shi 詩 + maki no. + folio no. In a western style half-leather binding.
Edition: Gozan-ban. Undated edition, printed in Japan from blocks modelled on a Chinese Yuan edition. Names of some of the original Chinese block-cutters are printed on the hanshin of maki 1-9. This copy lacks the preliminary maki which would contain preface, list of contents, chronology of Su Shi, etc. It also lacks maki 19-25.
Contents: A collection of poems by Su Shi 蘇軾 (Su Dongpo 蘇東坡), compiled and arranged in classified order by Wang Shipeng, with textual commentary by numerous scholars selected and added by Wang. Text critically pointed (批点) by Liu Chenweng.

Condition: Good on the whole. Slight worm damage (repaired), none of it affecting text. Brown stains in upper corners of maki 12-13. Book cropped at upper edge.
Impression: Blocks show signs of wear.
Seals of ownership: Oblong red seal, Myōkōan 妙高菴, has been superimposed over an earlier seal of similar size and shape, Chōkōin 長興院, printed inkoku, on first page of each former satsu. Also two unidentified black seals and one red, of early date, on last page of maki 2, 4, 7, 10, 13 and 16.
Manuscript notes: Textual headnotes in black and a few interlinear notes in red. Shubiki, kutōten, kunten and kaeriten in black and red throughout the whole text. All written in Muromachi period.
