Description: Incomplete copy. 18 kan (of 25), formerly in 8 satsu, now rebound in 1 vol. western style. The 8 former satsu are bound in the following order: (satsu 1) preface 序, ff. 3; nenpu 年譜, ff. 5; mokuroku 目録,ff. 11; shishū furoku 詩集附録, ff. 12; (satsu 2) To Kōbu bunshū 杜工部文集, maki 1-2; (satsu 3) To kōbu shishū 杜工部詩集, maki 1-3; (satsu 4) maki 4-5; (satsu 5) maki 6-7; (satsu 6) maki 8-10; (satsu 7) maki 11-13; (satsu 8) maki 14-15. Maki 16-20 of shishū 詩集 lacking. 26.2 x 16.1 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame varies between 21.6 and 22.5 x 14.1 cm. Single-line borders above and below text. Double-line borders (sometimes single) at inner edge of each leaf. Vertical rules between columns. Fishtail design on (very narrow) hanshin.
Kanbun text, without printed kunten or reading marks. 14 lines to page (double for commentary), 24-26 characters to line. (7 lines to page, 12-13 characters to line in gyōsho preface.)
Pale stone-coloured front cover only, old but not original, without title slip or gedai. Naidai at head of satsu 2: 杜工部文集巻之一; at head of satsu 3: 集千家註批點杜工部詩集巻之一. Hashiragaki: [varies according to section of work, but chiefly] Toshi 杜詩 + maki no. + folio no. In a western style half-leather binding.
Edition: Gozan-ban. Undated edition, printed from newly cut blocks modelled on a Chinese Yuan edition. The original Yuan mokki 木記 is reprinted as follows, at the end of the shishū mokuroku 詩集目録 in the present edition:雲衢會文堂戊申 [probably=1308] 孟冬刋. The hanshiki presents a densely-packed appearance, typical of many reprints from Yuan originals.
Contents: Selected poetry and prose of Du Fu 杜甫, compiled by Gao Chufang in the Yuan period with critical commentary added by Liu Chenweng. Liu's contribution is indicated as follows at head of mokuroku, bunshū 文集 section: 須溪先生劉會孟評點.

Condition: For the most part good. Minimal worm damage and no staining. Many leaves are partially or wholly split at fore-edge, and have been interleaved with washi.
Impression: Probably not shozuri. Blocks show some signs of wear.
Seals of ownership: Two oblong red seals, Jishōin 慈照院 and Baijukuken 梅熟軒 (both seals of Shōkokuji Baijukuken 相國寺梅熟軒), on first page of former satsu 1, 3, 5 and 7. Various seals used by Terada Bōnan 寺田望南: Dokuto sōdō 讀杜艸堂, Tenka musō 天下無雙, 東京溜池靈南街第六号讀杜艸堂主人寺田盛業印記, and 薩摩國鹿児島郡寺田平氏靜節山房清祕圖書記, impressed sporadically at beginning and end of former satsu. Oval red seal, Keisō 桂窗 (seal of Ozu Keisō 小津桂窓) on last page of book. Also a bookplate of the same owner, Seisō bunko 西荘文庫, has been pasted on the outer front cover.
Manuscript notes: Kutōten marked in red throughout. Kunten and kaeriten in red and some textual headnotes in black added throughout shishū 詩集 section in Muromachi period.
