Imprint: N.p, n.d. [Genna / Kan'ei period, c. 1615-35, but see notes under Edition below] . No colophon.
Description: 1 kan,1 satsu, rebound in 1 vol. western style. ff. 2 (序), 53 (本文 + 跋). 28.3 x 19.7 cm. Fukurotoji.
Movable type. Printing frame 22.3 x 17.4 cm. Double-line borders all round. 'Flower petal' fishtail design on hanshin.
Kanbun text, without printed kunten or reading marks. 9 lines to page, 15 characters to line.
Original vermilion (tan) front cover only. Title slip added later, with manuscript gedai: 續錦綉段. Title from naidai at head of text. Hashiragaki: Zoku kinshūdan 續錦縮 (ママ) 段 + folio no. In a western style half-leather binding.
Edition: The only recorded movable type edition of this work, followed by several blockprinted editions. Kokatsujiban no kenkyū and other reference works date it to Keichō period (c. 1605-15) by analogy with Keichō editions of Kobun kōkyō 古文孝經, Mōgyū 蒙求, and Kōshi tsūki 孔子通紀, which have a similar typeface..
Contents: A sequel to Kinshūdan 錦繡段 by the Zen monk Ryūtaku 龍澤, also of the Kenninji, which contained 324 Chinese poems selected from two earlier anthologies, Shinsenshū 新撰集 and Shinpenshū 新編集. In the present sequel, Jukei 壽桂 (a disciple of Ryūtaku), compiled a selection of a further 300 poems. The preface bears the date Daiei 1 大永初元年 (1521), and the batsubun signed by Jukei is similarly dated.

Condition: Fair to good. Some worm damage (unrepaired) at beginning and end of book.
Impression: Sharp and clear in places, but some indications of type wear.
Seals of ownership: Oblong red seal of Sir Ernest Satow, 英國薩道藏書, on first page of main text (following preface).
Manuscript notes: A few scattered headnotes in upper margins. Kunten and kaeriten in black and shubiki and kutōten in red, added shortly after date of publication.
