Description: 6 kan, formerly in 4 satsu, rebound in 1 vol. western style. (Maki 1) ff. 3, 13, 25; (2) ff. 48; (3) ff. 32; (4) ff. 40; (5) ff. 34; (6) ff. 41. 25.3 x 18.5 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 21.3 x 17.4 cm. (average). Single-line borders. No fishtail design on hanshin.
Kanbun (main text) with printed kunten, okurigana and kaeriten, and katakana-majiri text (commentary). 9 lines to page (kanbun text), 18 lines (commentary), variable no. of characters to line.
Original dull blue front cover of satsu 1 only. Title slip missing. No gedai. Hashiragaki: Shinkyū wage 針灸和解 + maki no. + folio no.
Edition: The only pre-modern edition known.
Contents: A detailed Japanese commentary by Okamoto Ippō on the Chinese medical work Jūshi-kei hakki 十四經發揮 (Chinese: Shisi-jing fahui), a comprehensive study of the science and practice of acupuncture first printed in 1341.

Condition: Fair to good. Some worm damage, chiefly in margins.
Impression: A tozuri from worn blocks.
Illustrations: An introductory section (furoku 附録) precedes maki 1, containing 24 single-page sumizuri anatomical sketches showing acupuncture points. According to a note on the last of these, they were drawn by the author Ippō 一抱 himself. A further 12 full-page figure sketches of a similar kind, together with many smaller diagrams, appear scattered throughout the book.
