- Title:
- [Mecmua-yi fetava] - [مجموعۀ فتاوی]
- Scope & Content:
-
This volume contains a reference collection of fetava. Most of these are grouped in three untitled compilations without the authors' names provided, two of which are systematically arranged. Only the second compilation is dated, but the entirety is likely from the 17th century CE.
(I) ff 2r-71r : An untitled compilation with a table of contents on f 1r. The names of the müftüler responsible for the fetava are not provided. There are marginal annotations throughout this text ;
(II) ff 72r-84r : Fetava on a variety of topics, not arranged under headings, although an inscription on f 74r states that the contents were copied verbatim. The text contains a colophon on f 84r, which states that the fetava were copied from the mecmua of Şirinzade Ahmet Efendi on 23 Cemaziülahire (misspelled in the text) 1049 AH (1 November 1639 CE). The authorities cited include Ebusuud, Abdülkadir, and Ahmet İbn-i Kemal Paşa ;
(III) ff 84v-91v : A brief compilation written in continuous form under the rubrics of taharat, salat, zekat, and savm. The authorities whose fetava are included in this text are not named. The work is in the same hand as text II ;
(IV) ff 91v-120r : This text is possibly a continuation of text II. It is arranged by subject under rubrics, and was copied in the same hand as texts II and III. The second at the end (ff 117v-120r) is in a different hand from the rest of the text and includes fetava and other material in a later hand ;
(V) ff 121r-124r : A brief compilation of fetava on diverse questions, mainly unattributed. The text contains some marginalia throughout, and is written in continuous form.
Other contents of the work include Arabic quotations, including Aḥādīth, and medicinal recipes (ff 124v-129v).
Several folios of the work have been torn out after f 124 and the following blanks.
