Description: 8 kan, formerly in 8 satsu, now rebound in 1 vol. western style. (1) ff. 27; (2) ff. 37; (3) ff. 44; (4) ff. 35; (5) ff. 32; (6) ff. 23; (7) ff. 33; (8) ff. 37. 26.2 x 17.3 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 20.5 x 15.6 cm. (average). Single-line borders, with fishtail design on hanshin.
Kanbun text with printed okurigana and kaeriten, interspersed with siddham characters, 9 lines to page, 17 characters to line.
Mid-blue front cover, possibly original, of first satsu, with printed title slip (lower part missing) bearing gedai: 悉曇明了房記. Title from naidai at head of each maki.
Hashiragaki: Shittan Myōryōki 悉曇明了記 + maki no. + folio no. In a western style half-leather binding.
Edition: The only recorded edition under this title.
Contents: A commentary on Shittan jiki 悉曇字記 (Ch. Xitan ziji) concerning the use of siddham script and phonology. (Note that this commentary in 8 kan is a different work from no. 181.) Text edited, according to kango, by the monk Jinkakubō 深覺房.
