Author/compiler: Yamada Sōhen 山田宗徧, tea master, 1627-1708.
Imprint: Kyōto, Yamatoya Jūzaemon, Genroku 15, 1702. Mokki in a narrow frame on inner edge of fol. 39b (maki 下), following batsu, reads; 元禄十五年壬午霜月吉日 / 平安書房上田氏大和屋重左衞門.
Description: 2 kan, formerly in 2 satsu, now rebound in 1 vol. western style. (Maki 上) ff. 4, 27; (maki 下) ff. 39. 24.8 x 18.7 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 20.7 x 17.7 cm. Single-line borders. Single white fishtail design on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text, with dakuten but very few furigana. Preface and batsu in kanbun. 11 lines to page, variable no. of characters to line.
Original pale buff front cover of satsu 1 only, with printed title slip on left. Gedai: Rikyū (tsunogaki in a circular frame) chadōgu zue 利休 (角書) 茶道具圖繪. Title from naidai at head of each maki and mokuroku. Hashiragaki: 茶道具圖巻之上 (下) + folio no.
Edition: The only edition recorded. Batsu by the author on fol. 39b of maki 下, is dated Genroku 14 (1701).
