Description: 1 kan, 1 satsu, now rebound in 1 vol. western style. ff. 21. 18.3 x 13.1 cm. Fukurotoji.
Blockprint. Printing frame 16.9 x 12.4 cm. (average). Single-line borders. Black blocking but no fishtail design on hanshin.
Hiragana-majiri text, with printed dakuten but no furigana; in shirami-bon style. 16 lines to page, variable no. of characters to line.
Renewed pale green front cover, with renewed title slip bearing manuscript gedai: Kinpira monogatari Edo Izumidayū shōhon 金平物語 江戸和泉太夫正本 ／ 紙數二十一枚. No naidai. Title from E-iri jōrurishi 絵入浄瑠璃史. Hashiragaki: Shinnō しんわう + folio no. In a modern western style cloth binding.
Edition: Undated edition published in Edo.
Contents: A ko-jōruri shōhon 古浄瑠璃正本 (certified text of a playbook) of the chanter Izumidayū, containing the jōruri play Sugawara no shinnō 菅原親王, also known as Kinpira myakuron 金平みやく論. The text is headed: 江戸和泉太夫正本也.

Impression: Atozuri, from slightly worn blocks.
Illustrations: 7 double-page (mihiraki) illustrations in characteristic ko-jōruri style, depicting figures of large size, some with bulging eyes. Crude hand-colouring on some illustrations.
Seals of ownership: Oblong red seal, Shikō zō 紫香藏 (seal of Ōkubo Shikō 大久保紫香), on fol. 1a and on endpaper following fol. 21a.
