The collection consists of the following papers:
- 7 letters written by James Jackson to his family in Enfield, England, 1793-1796 (ff.1-17). The letters concern family news, serving on HMS Suffolk, voyage to Madras, the sinking of HMS Diomede, conflict with the Dutch at Trincomalee in 1795 and at Amboyna and Banda in 1796.
- 4 letters from I Jackson to the Lawford family in Enfield, England, 1800-1802 (ff.18-25).
- 3 letters from William Jackson in Bengal written to John and Sarah Lawford in Enfield, England, 1784-1813 (ff.26-30).
- Letters addressed to Mrs Lawford, John Jackson, and Mr Calow and Mrs Blunt, 1813 (ff.31-35).
- Notice to pay the poor rate addressed to Mrs Sarah Blunt, 6 May 1843 (f.36).
