Dedication by Ninagawa Noritane at beginning of scroll: 明治一〇年九月英國ロンドン博物館へ之を納る 日本東京 蜷川式胤.
British Museum note attached to beginning of scroll reads "Written by a Buddhist priest named Yūhon".

Material: Ink on paper. Columns lined with gold ink. 4 characters per column. Upper and lower borders and back of scroll embellished with flakes of gold and silver leaf.
Dimensions: 340 x 3000 mm.
Binding: Dark-blue paper cover decorated with designs of branches and leaves in gold. Roller embossed metal (bronze?) ends.
