- Scrolls A and B consist of a piece on the general subject of Europe authored by George Bogle at the request of the 3rd Panchen Lama. Topics covered include the monarchy, the political and judicial systems of Great Britain, religion, agriculture, transport and culture, and medical practice.Scroll C is a general account of Tibetan history authored for George Bogle by the 3rd Panchen Lama. It does not include the early period covered by Panchen Lama's history of Tibet that was published in the appendix of Narratives of the Mission of George Bogle to Tibet, and of the Journey of Thomas Manning to Lhasa. Edited, with Notes, an Introduction, and Lives of Mr. Bogle and Mr. Manning, by Clements R. Markham. London; 1879. pp 341-346. Scroll C seems to be a continuation of the text translated in Markham's book (of which the whereabouts of the original are unknown).
