This volume contains a treatise on spiritual, physical, and occult remedies by Ebu Bekir Nusret (died 1210 AH/1795 CE).
Few details are known about Nusret’s life. He was from Harput and studied with Dağıstani Ali. He studied Sufism with Mustafa el-Bekri el-Kuddusi. He had mastered Persian literature and was himself an accomplished poet. He authored a Divan as well as a summary of the work of tefsir known as Keşfu’l-Esrar. He resided in Istanbul for more than thirty years, and served as the librarian of the Nuruosmaniye Mosque Library. He is buried in the Kaşgari Dergahı near Eyüp.
Nusret’s Ma hazar is also known by the titles Tıbb-ı Nusreti, Mücerrebat-ı Nusret, and Risale-i Nusreti. The latter is inscribed on the top and bottom edges of the present copy. Nusret explains in the preface that he recorded all the remedies that he encountered in Arabic, Persian, or Ottoman Turkish books and found to be efficacious.
The present volume does not include the final 13 pages found in a copy of the work published in Istanbul in 1269 AH/1852 CE. There is a list of contents of the work on ff 1r-2r. On 64v, there are notes on the location and produce of four pieces of agricultural land belonging to a notable or notables (referred to as mahdumlarımız) in Damascus. There are several numerological tables.

Though undated, this volume is likely from the late 12th or early 13th century AH/late 18th or early 19th century CE.
