This volume contains three Arabic treatises on Islamic jurisprudence, as well as a fourth in Ottoman Turkish. The contents comprise of:
I. (ff 2v-36r) This section contains a work in Arabic, in several chapters, on Islamic jurisprudence regarding ta‘zīr (a formal chastisement or reprimand) and the distinction between ta‘zīr and ḥadd (imposition of an actual penalty). Numerous authorities are quoted, though there does not appear to be a title or author.
II. (37v-56v) This section contains another treatise in Arabic on jurisprudence, concerned again with punishment.
III. (57r-82v) This section contains part of the same text as the first in this volume, though lacking the beginning and end.
IV. (83r-97v) This section contains a treatise in Ottoman Turkish on jurisprudence and penalties. This may be a translation or an adaptation of the second text in this volume, despite the wholly misleading rubric on 97v suggesting otherwise.
There is a gilt illuminated unvan on 37v and similarly illuminated text frames on 37v-38r. Though undated, this work is from around the 12th century AH/18th century CE.
