A description of Ezo [Hokkaidō] by FukuiYoshimaro 福居芳麿. The manuscript begins with illustrations of a British ship(The Anglia) which appeared off Hokkaido in 1797, and a Russian ship (The Ekaterina)which visited Nemuro in 1792, bringing back to Japan the castaway DaigokuyaKodayu. Folios 9-25 show hunting and other activities of the Ainu. Folios 26-37have images of flora and fauna of Hokkaido including a seal, sea otter, bat andbirds. Several illustrations bear theinscription Katei sha 柯亭写.
