- Scope & Content:
- Tibetan translation of canonical Indian Buddhist commentaries covering subjects of the Sutra and and Tantra teachings of Indian Buddhism.The print blocks were originally produced in the printing house of the sNar thang monastery in Central Tibet, a supplementary volume "Ki" was added to the Sutra section after 1763.The set was produced on the order of the 7th Panchen Lama in the 1830s and presented to the British representative in Nepal, Brian Houghton Hodgson, in 1838. It was subsequently presented by Hodgson to the India Office Library.
