Five signed autograph letters from the artist Samuel Palmer to William Linnell (one letter), and to John Linnell Jnr. (four letters), as follows:
(1). 6 Douro Place, August 1860. To William Linnell, on his departure for a tour of Italy. (1 sheet folded, with envelope).
(2). Furze Hill House, February 1864. To John Linnell Jnr., seeking advice on raising a loan. 'I have once more the offer of this Furze Hill House - I have a day or two - not more - to decide [….].' With a page of calculations, in another hand, dated 1864: 'S.P. will be a yearly tenant at 51.0.0 pr anm'. (2 sheets)
(3). Furze Hill, [1864]. To John Linnell Jnr. 'I wrote immediately to Mr. Lees, proposing as you suggested - the taking a lease with leave to purchase.' (1 sheet)
(4). Undated [1864] letter to John Linnell Jnr. 'I consulted the papers you were kind enough to send me but they did not meet the case.' (1 sheet folded)
(5). Furze Hill House, Thursday [1864]. To John Linnell [Jnr?]. 'I send the papers you wished to see. They arrived only this evening from Mr. Lees.' (1 sheet folded)
