Or 17048 (1): folio 1r (fully opening the sheet of paper): Table for years 5615 – 5643 Anno Mundi (= 1854/5 - 1882/3 CE), giving the following information for each year: place in the 19-year ‘Small Cycle’; place in the 28-year ‘Great Cycle’; whether plain or intercalated (= a leap year, with a 13th month); and the sign indicating [a] day-of-the-week of Rosh Hashanah, [b] number of days in the two months with variable length, and [c] day-of-the-week of the beginning of the month of Nisan and Passover. At the end, Hakham Ezra Dangoor indicates that the years ‘from here on’ can be found in his book on the calendar. (See there, manuscript Or 17046, chapter 4, folio 9a and following; but at a later date Hakham Dangoor added the information from the present sheet of paper into his calendar book, on folio 103v.)
Folio 1v: Monthly molads (= mean conjunctions of the sun and moon) for the years 5683 and 5684 Anno Mundi = 1922/3 and 1923/4 CE.
Or 17048 (2): Printed wall calendar for the year 5684 Anno Mundi = 1923/4 CE. No author is indicated, but the wording and content are comparable to those of Manuscript Or 17047, a pocket calendar by Hakham Ezra Dangoor; and the location given below for the printing press (Bab al-'Agha) matches the location of Dangoor’s press. The following information is provided for the year as a whole: the year is intercalated (= a leap year, adding a 13th month); a fitting mnemonic to remember the numeric value of the year (omitting the millennial, viz. 684) is provided from Psalm 65:12, ‘you crowned (עטרתה) the year of Your goodness’; the sign 3-Orderly-7 is provided, indicating that Rosh Hashanah is on day 3 of the week (Tuesday), the months with variable values are ‘orderly’ (one has 29 days, and the other – 30), and the month of Nisan and Passover begin on day 7 of the week (Saturday); it is a Sabbatical year; it is year 3 of the 300th 19-year ‘Small Cycle’, coordinating the sun and moon; it is the 28th year of the 203rd 28-year ‘Great Cycle’ of the sun; 1856 years from the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple; year 1923 of the Christian era, until until the first day of January = Kanun II, which coincides with 23 Tevet; year 1342 of the Islamic era; year [1]340 of the Ottoman Fiscal era, until 24 Adar I or 7 Adar II; 384 days in the year; the year contains 55 weeks/Sabbaths; except for Matot and Mas'e, none of the Torah portions are doubled. Then, the following information is provided for each month: name; number of days; zodiacal sign; Islamic month and year; European and Arabic names of the month on the Christian calendar; beginning of the month on which day or days of the week; the mean conjunction for the month; noteworthy items (special Jewish observances or liturgical information; weekly Torah portions; change of month in the Christian calendar) and the days when they occur. Along the left of the page (= its end, reading from right to left): table of times, using Alaturka hours, for morning, afternoon, and evening prayers, rounded out into weekly increments, linked to the weekly Torah portion. Bottom left: Printing press of the Israelite district and the centre at Bab al-'Agha'(?).
