Diary of John Lewis Roget as a student in 1848 describing his holidays from Trinity College, Cambridge. This volume details his activities whilst at home in Bloomsbury and visiting Hampstead. He describes visits to friends, art exhibitions, the theatre, and a Chinese junk berthed at the East India Docks.
Roget also describes books that he read during this time, including "Vanity Fair", "Tancred", and "Jane Eyre", and conveys rumours of a haunted farm.
