- Scope & Content:
- Series of 44 letters from the Duke of Sussex to George Glover. These letters mostly discuss issues of the day, as the Duke and Glover had shared liberal sympathies, especially relating to religious emancipation, but also discuss family matters. This folder also includes a letter appointing Glover as the Duke's Chaplain, dated 1820, with an accompanying letter from Thomas William Coke; a copy of a letter by Glover to the Duke regarding a role at Lincoln's Inn, dated Sep 1831; a copy of the Duke's letter to the Archbishop of Canterbury proposing Glover for a position, dated 31 Mar 1834; an invitation to Glover for the Duke's funeral from Apr 1843; and four letters to Glover from the Duchess of Inverness from 1843 to 1857.
