Contents
Summary of Contents: 2 works by 2 authors on the subjects of Persian poetry, Qasidas, Koran, Tafsir, and Shīʻah Doctrines Early works to 18001. ff. 1Bv-26rAuthor: AnonymousTitle: Tafsīr-i Sūrah-i Yā-SīnTitle: تفسیر سورۀ یاسینAn anonymous Shīʻi commentary on Sūrah 36 (Yā-Sīn )
The author speaks first of the importance of the sūrah and of the meaning of the name Yā-Sīn. He then comments on the Qurʼānic text piece by piece. It is his practice to prefix a Persian paraphrase to his comments on each passage. He explains at some length the asbāb al-nuzūl and the historical allusions. No previous commentators or commentaries seem to be mentioned by name. The manuscript begins abruptly and would appear to have been copied from one which had lost the beginning. The title is written on f 1Ar in a later hand
