Title: Ḥirz-i matīnTitle: حرز متينRare translation and commentary on Ibn al-Jazarī’s ʿUddat al-Ḥiṣn al-ḥaṣīn min kalām sayyid al-mursalīn, entitled Ḥirz-i matīn, by the author named in the work as Fakhr al-Dīn Muḥibb Allāh, but identified by two later owners, both relatives, as either Muḥammad Fakhr al-Dīn or Fakhr al-Dīn Muḥammad. The author claims descent from the great muḥaddis̲ of Delhi, Shaykh ʿAbd al-Ḥaqq Dihlavī, described as Fakhr al-Dīn’s master and grandfather (sayyidī va jaddī)
Dated colophon (f. 287v): 7 Ṣafar [regnal] year 3, 1132/20 December 1719
An inscription at the end (f. 287v) states that the present volume was checked against the author’s holograph
Inscriptions from two later owners: 1) gift of Shaykh ʿAbd al-Raḥīm al-Junaydī in julūsī year 11 of Emperor Muḥammad Shāh, 1141/1728-9; 2) Abū al-Ḥayāt nephew of the Shaykh al-Muḥaddis̲ [ʿAbd al-Ḥaqq] al-Dihlavī’s nephew, 14 Ṣafar 1137/2 November 1724
