Title: Rāḥat al-qulūbTitle: راحت القلوبLanguage(s): Persian and ArabicTreatise collecting the spiritual discourses of the great Chishtī saint, Khvājah Farīd al-Dīn Masʿūd known as the Ganj-i Shakar of Ucchh or Ūch Sharīf (d. 664/1265-6), compiled by his disciple and spiritual successor, the famous Shaykh al-Mushāʾikh, Shaykh Niẓām al-Dīn Muḥammad (Aḥmad[sic]) Badāʾūnī (d. 725/1324).
Dated colophon (f. 50r): completed on Sunday morning, salkh (=29) Shaʿbān 1238/29 April 1823, in reign of Emperor Akbar II (RY omitted).
Rough and awkward nastaʿlīq tending toward taʿlīq in parts.
Infrequent annotations and corrections in margins.
Stamped foliation.
Original binding replaced by IOL red half leather covers, IOL dated stamp absent (circa 1976). Elements from earlier covers (combed marbled paper and labels from beginning matter) pasted in with flyleaves.
Folios re-edged, remounted, and rebound.
